RETURN, REFUND, CANCELLATION & EXCHANGE POLICY

Effective Date: 12 August 2026
Last Updated: 12 August 2026

At The Bake Kart, we take reasonable care to ensure that products are accurately described, carefully packed, and dispatched to our customers.

Due to the nature of many products we sell—including baking ingredients, consumables, food-contact products, tools, equipment, accessories, and other products that may become unsuitable for resale once opened or used—we follow a limited-return, limited-refund, and no-routine-exchange policy.

This Policy explains the circumstances in which an order may be cancelled, returned, replaced, exchanged, or refunded.

Nothing in this Policy is intended to exclude or restrict any consumer right or statutory remedy that cannot legally be excluded or restricted under applicable law.

1. NO CHANGE-OF-MIND RETURNS

The Bake Kart generally does not accept returns or provide refunds for change of mind, where the product supplied is correct, undamaged, unused, and as described.

This includes situations where:

  • You changed your mind after placing the order;

  • You no longer require the product;

  • You ordered the wrong product;

  • You selected the wrong size, variant, colour, flavour, or specification;

  • You ordered the wrong quantity;

  • You purchased the product by mistake;

  • You found the product cheaper elsewhere;

  • You do not like the product after receiving it;

  • The product does not meet your personal preference;

  • You expected a different appearance despite the product matching its listing; or

  • You simply no longer want the product.

Customers are therefore requested to carefully review the product description, specifications, quantity, variant, and other details before placing an order.

2. NO ROUTINE EXCHANGE POLICY

The Bake Kart does not provide routine product exchanges.

An exchange or replacement may only be considered where:

  • The wrong product was supplied;

  • The product is verified to be defective;

  • The product was damaged before or during fulfilment in circumstances for which The Bake Kart is responsible;

  • The product is materially different from what was ordered; or

  • An exchange/replacement is otherwise required under applicable law.

Any approved replacement is subject to product availability.

If the same product is unavailable, The Bake Kart may provide another appropriate resolution in accordance with applicable law.

3. ELIGIBLE RETURN / REFUND CASES

Subject to verification and applicable law, a return, replacement, or refund may be available where you receive:

A. Wrong Product

The product delivered is materially different from the product ordered.

B. Defective Product

The product has a genuine manufacturing defect or other qualifying defect that existed before or at the time of delivery.

C. Missing / Short-Shipped Product

One or more products or quantities paid for are missing from the shipment.

D. Materially Incorrect Product

The product materially differs from the characteristics, specifications, or features represented on the website.

E. Other Legally Protected Circumstances

A return, replacement, refund, or other remedy may be provided where required under applicable consumer protection laws.

All claims are subject to reasonable verification.

4. TRANSIT DAMAGE

The Bake Kart takes reasonable care to package products securely before dispatch.

Once an order has been handed over to the applicable courier or logistics provider, the shipment may be handled by a third-party carrier.

The Bake Kart shall not be responsible for damage, breakage, leakage, crushing, mishandling, or other physical damage caused solely during transit by the courier or logistics provider, to the extent permitted by applicable law.

Customers are strongly advised to inspect the package at the time of delivery.

Where reasonably possible, customers should:

  • Photograph the package before opening;

  • Photograph any visible damage or tampering;

  • Record an unboxing video;

  • Photograph the shipping label;

  • Retain the original packaging; and

  • Notify The Bake Kart promptly.

Where a transit-damage complaint is received, The Bake Kart may coordinate with the applicable courier or logistics provider to investigate the matter.

5. REPORTING DAMAGED, WRONG OR MISSING PRODUCTS

Customers should contact The Bake Kart within 48 hours of delivery wherever reasonably possible if they receive:

  • A damaged product;

  • A wrong product;

  • A missing product;

  • A defective product;

  • An incomplete order; or

  • A product materially different from what was ordered.

Prompt reporting allows us to investigate the matter with our warehouse and logistics partners.

A delayed complaint may make verification more difficult; however, the 48-hour reporting period does not override any statutory right that cannot legally be excluded.

6. EVIDENCE AND VERIFICATION

To process a return, replacement, or refund claim, we may request reasonable evidence, including:

  • Order number;

  • Invoice;

  • Photographs of the product;

  • Photographs of the outer packaging;

  • Photograph of the shipping label;

  • Photographs of any damage;

  • Unboxing video, where available;

  • Product batch/lot number, where applicable;

  • Expiry/best-before information, where applicable;

  • Description of the issue; and

  • Other information reasonably necessary to investigate the claim.

Providing an unboxing video is strongly recommended, particularly for fragile products, but the absence of an unboxing video will not by itself determine whether a legitimate claim is accepted.

7. RETURN AUTHORISATION

Do not send any product back without contacting The Bake Kart first.

Where a return is approved, we will provide the applicable return instructions and return address.

Unauthorised returns may result in delays in processing and may not be accepted where they do not comply with the applicable return instructions.

8. CONDITION OF RETURNED PRODUCTS

Where a return is approved, the product should generally be returned:

  • In its original condition;

  • Unused;

  • With original packaging where reasonably available;

  • With labels attached where applicable;

  • With accessories and components supplied with the product; and

  • Without additional damage caused after delivery.

For consumable, food, ingredient, hygiene-sensitive, or sealed products, opened or used products will generally not be eligible for return, except where a return, replacement, refund, or other remedy is required by applicable law.

9. PRODUCTS THAT MAY NOT BE RETURNABLE

Due to the nature of certain products, returns may generally not be accepted for products that are:

  • Food or baking ingredients;

  • Consumable;

  • Perishable;

  • Opened;

  • Used;

  • Unsealed;

  • Customised;

  • Personalised;

  • Hygiene-sensitive;

  • Made specifically to customer requirements; or

  • Otherwise unsuitable for resale after opening or use.

This restriction does not override any applicable statutory remedy for defective, damaged, wrong, spurious, or materially non-conforming goods.

10. RETURN SHIPPING

Where a return is permitted because of a customer-requested reason, such as an incorrect selection or change of mind, the customer may be responsible for the return shipping cost, where such return is otherwise permitted.

Where a return is required because The Bake Kart supplied a wrong, defective, or otherwise qualifying product, the applicable return-shipping arrangement will be determined by The Bake Kart in accordance with applicable law and the circumstances of the claim.

Customers should not ship products to an address other than the return address provided by The Bake Kart.

11. RISK OF CUSTOMER-INITIATED RETURN

Where the customer is responsible for returning an eligible product, the customer should use a reliable, trackable shipping service and retain proof of shipment.

The Bake Kart cannot confirm receipt of a return until the returned product has actually been received or reliable delivery confirmation is available.

Where a return is required for an approved claim, customers should follow the return instructions provided by The Bake Kart.

12. REFUND AFTER RETURN

Where a refund is approved subject to the receipt and verification of a returned product, the refund will generally be processed after:

  1. The returned product is received;

  2. The product is inspected where reasonably necessary;

  3. The claim is verified; and

  4. The refund is approved.

The final refund amount will depend on the circumstances of the claim, the products involved, and applicable law.

13. REFUND METHOD

Approved refunds will generally be processed through the original payment method used for the order.

For example:

  • Card payment → applicable card/payment account;

  • UPI payment → applicable payment channel;

  • Net banking → applicable banking/payment channel;

  • Wallet → applicable wallet/payment provider.

The Bake Kart does not ordinarily provide cash refunds for online orders.

14. REFUND PROCESSING TIME

Once a refund is approved, The Bake Kart will initiate the applicable refund within a reasonable processing period and, where applicable, within the timeframe required by law.

After the refund has been initiated by The Bake Kart, the actual credit to the customer's account may depend on the relevant:

  • Bank;

  • Payment gateway;

  • Card issuer;

  • UPI provider;

  • Wallet provider; or

  • Other financial institution.

Accordingly, the date on which The Bake Kart initiates a refund may differ from the date on which the customer receives the funds.

15. REFUND FOR ORDERS CANCELLED BY THE BAKE KART

If The Bake Kart confirms an order but subsequently becomes unable to fulfil it for reasons attributable to The Bake Kart, we may cancel the affected order and provide the applicable refund.

Examples may include:

  • Product becoming unavailable;

  • Material inventory error;

  • Inability to service the delivery location;

  • Unavoidable operational circumstances; or

  • Other legitimate fulfilment issues.

Where payment has already been received, the applicable refund will be initiated through the original payment method or another appropriate method permitted by law.

16. ORDER CANCELLATION BY CUSTOMER

Customers who wish to cancel an order should contact The Bake Kart as soon as possible.

Cancellation requests must be sent to:

thebakekart@gmail.com

Please include:

  • Order number;

  • Customer name;

  • Registered mobile number; and

  • Reason for cancellation.

Cancellation before dispatch

A cancellation request may be considered if the order has not yet been processed, packed, or dispatched.

Cancellation after dispatch

Once an order has been packed or dispatched, cancellation may no longer be possible.

Where the shipment is already in transit, the customer may need to follow the applicable return procedure, if a return is legally or contractually available.

17. INCORRECT DELIVERY ADDRESS

Customers are responsible for providing a complete and accurate delivery address.

If an order cannot be delivered or is returned to The Bake Kart because of:

  • Incorrect address;

  • Incomplete address;

  • Incorrect PIN code;

  • Incorrect mobile number;

  • Customer unavailability;

  • Customer refusal to accept delivery; or

  • Other circumstances attributable to the customer,

any applicable refund will be determined in accordance with this Policy and applicable law.

Any legitimate return-to-origin or re-delivery costs may be dealt with in accordance with applicable law.

18. REFUSED DELIVERY

Customers should not refuse delivery solely because they have changed their mind.

If a shipment is refused and returned to The Bake Kart, any refund will be considered according to the applicable cancellation/return terms and applicable law.

Refusing delivery does not automatically constitute cancellation or entitle the customer to an automatic refund.

19. PARTIAL REFUNDS

A partial refund may be considered where:

  • Only part of an order is affected;

  • A particular quantity is missing;

  • A product has a verified issue that does not require complete return;

  • Part of an order has been cancelled; or

  • Another appropriate resolution is agreed or required.

The amount of any partial refund will depend on the affected product/value and applicable circumstances.

20. NO AUTOMATIC 30–45% REFUND

The Bake Kart does not apply an automatic 30–45% refund to all returned products.

Any refund will be determined based on:

  • Reason for return;

  • Product condition;

  • Whether the product was defective or incorrectly supplied;

  • Whether the product was opened or used;

  • Applicable return/shipping arrangements;

  • Applicable law; and

  • The specific circumstances of the claim.

21. PACKING AND SHIPPING CHARGES

Where permitted by applicable law, original shipping, packing, handling, or other charges may not be refundable for customer-requested cancellations or returns.

Where a refund is required because The Bake Kart supplied a wrong, defective, damaged, or materially non-conforming product, applicable charges will be handled in accordance with applicable law.

22. FRAUDULENT OR ABUSIVE CLAIMS

The Bake Kart reserves the right to investigate claims that reasonably appear fraudulent, abusive, repetitive, misleading, or inconsistent with available order, warehouse, or delivery records.

Examples may include:

  • False damage claims;

  • False non-delivery claims;

  • Returning a different product;

  • Returning a used product while claiming it was unused;

  • Manipulated photographs or videos;

  • Deliberately damaging a product after delivery; or

  • Repeated abusive refund requests.

Where fraud or abuse is reasonably suspected, The Bake Kart may request additional verification and take appropriate action permitted by law.

Nothing in this section prevents customers from making legitimate complaints or exercising lawful consumer rights.

23. REFUNDS DURING OPERATIONAL DISRUPTIONS

Refund processing may be affected by circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including:

  • Natural disasters;

  • Floods;

  • Fire;

  • Government restrictions;

  • Public emergencies;

  • Pandemic-related restrictions;

  • Extended warehouse or office closures;

  • Major transportation disruptions;

  • Infrastructure failures; or

  • Other circumstances beyond our reasonable control.

In such circumstances, The Bake Kart will make reasonable efforts to process approved refunds as soon as reasonably practicable.

Nothing in this section is intended to remove any mandatory refund timeline or statutory consumer remedy.

24. NO CASH REFUNDS

For online orders, approved refunds will generally be made through the original payment method or another appropriate electronic payment method.

Cash refunds will not ordinarily be provided for online transactions.

25. MANUFACTURER WARRANTY

Where a product is covered by a manufacturer's warranty, warranty claims may be subject to the manufacturer's applicable terms and procedures.

The Bake Kart may assist customers in contacting or coordinating with the manufacturer where reasonably possible.

A manufacturer's warranty does not automatically mean that The Bake Kart will accept a return or provide an immediate refund.

Any statutory consumer rights remain unaffected.

26. POLICY FOR B2B / BULK ORDERS

Orders placed for business, wholesale, institutional, commercial, or bulk purposes may be subject to separate commercial terms agreed between the parties.

Where a written quotation, purchase order, invoice, or separate commercial agreement applies to a B2B transaction, the applicable agreed terms will govern to the extent permitted by law.

Customers should review applicable commercial terms before confirming bulk or business purchases.

27. CONSUMER RIGHTS

This Policy establishes The Bake Kart's normal commercial procedures.

Nothing in this Policy is intended to:

  • Exclude statutory consumer rights;

  • Prevent a customer from making a legitimate complaint;

  • Refuse a legally required refund or replacement;

  • Exclude remedies for defective or materially non-conforming goods; or

  • Contract out of mandatory consumer protections.

Where applicable law provides a greater right or remedy than this Policy, the applicable law will prevail.

28. POLICY CHANGES

The Bake Kart may update this Policy from time to time to reflect:

  • Changes in our products;

  • Business operations;

  • Payment systems;

  • Logistics arrangements;

  • Customer service procedures;

  • Legal requirements; or

  • Regulatory requirements.

The latest version will be published on this page with the updated Last Updated date.

The Policy applicable to an order will generally be the version in effect when the order was placed, subject to applicable law.

  • Product name;

  • Product specifications;

  • Size;

  • Variant;

  • Quantity;

  • Price;

  • Delivery address; and

  • Contact information.

Because several products sold by The Bake Kart may be consumable, sealed, hygiene-sensitive, or unsuitable for resale after opening, change-of-mind returns and routine exchanges are generally not accepted.

At the same time, The Bake Kart will review legitimate complaints involving wrong, defective, missing, damaged, or materially non-conforming products in accordance with this Policy and applicable law.
